Jemimah Timothy Ekanem is a Professor of Agricultural Extension with a Rural Sociology and Development specialty, who teaches in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension, and currently the Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, Obio Akpa Campus, Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU), Akwa Ibom State Nigeria.
She obtained her Professional Training at the University of Uyo (Uniuyo), Uyo, Akwa Ibom State where she graduated as the best final year student in the Department with, a Bachelor of Agriculture Degree in Agricultural Economics and Extension (Second Class Honours Upper Division) in 1998; a Master’s degree in Agricultural Extension in 2008 and proceeded to the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture (MOUA) Umudike, Abia State for a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in the Department of Agricultural Extension and Rural Sociology and obtained same in 2013.
She has been involved in Teaching and Research in Agricultural communication, Extension Education, Rural Sociology, Extension Administration, Community Development, Technology development, dissemination, and transfer, etc. since 2004 starting from the Defunct College of Agriculture, Obio Akpa. She has served the University in many capacities; from the Pioneer Coordinator of the Internship programme for the Faculty of Agriculture for Three (3) Academic sessions (2014-2017). She is the immediate past Director of Quality Assurance, Akwa Ibom State University.
